Yeshivat Har Shalom

Yeshivat Har Shalom is a new and innovative program for Hesder students, who are challenged by attention disorders and learning disabilities, and who need more individual guidance and instruction, prior to their induction into the IDF. The program combines religious study and military training with an agricultural component, which strengthens their connection to the Land of Israel.
Har Shalom, named after Shalom (Shuli) Har Melech z"l, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists, is an extension of the Hesder Yeshiva in Elon Moreh. It was established in Homesh (pronounced Cho-mesh), a community settlement near Jenin, which has been dismantled by a decision of the Israel government and its residents dislocated from their homes.
The Yeshiva has been relocated in the foothills of Hevron and is a growing and successful educational framework for young adults who, otherwise, would have no appropriate institution that would cater to their special needs.
